Mercedes-benz Stadium

Atlanta Falcons: New stadium will have perpetually closed Chick-fil-A

This is a stadium located in Atlanta, Georgia, that is a multi-purpose stadium. As a kid, I grew up in Atlanta for the first 10 years of my life. I went to Atlanta Falcons games with my father, watching Michael Vick play. I was fascinated to enter this stadium, and the atmosphere was unlike anything I have ever seen. Every person was ecstatic, and I had never felt more alive as a child than when I was inside that stadium. Every time I walked inside, I was at a loss for words. I felt so excited, and the time in that stadium was worthwhile. My encounter and experiences were gratifying, and the memories I have, I will always cherish.

Sunnyside Diner

Sunnyside spreading in every direction

It has become a tradition of my grandparents and I to eat breakfast here at Sunnyside Diner at some point during the week. This diner is important to me because it represents family and togetherness, not just because I meet my biological family here but because the staff makes me feel at home. This is important to me because my family has been everything but together for as long as I can remember. I won’t get into the details but something as simple as being able to enjoy a meal with my family in a familiar place brings me joy. For this diner, I am thankful.

Wellington Lane

216 Wellington Ln, Moore, OK 73160 - realtor.com®

This is my childhood home. I spent well over 16 years in this house playing in the yard, climbing on top of the roof, breaking windows, and doing all other things that an adventurous child would do. When I first moved in all I felt was excitement because I was moving closer to my friends and family and into a bigger neighborhood. Throughout my 16 year tenure in this house, many lessons were learned, mostly positive but some negative, as well. Like learning how to ride a bike, how to shave, and how to take the trash out the first time I am asked. The memories made here are something that I could never forget and will always cherish, both good and bad, for this is my childhood home.

the Price Tower

Price Tower | Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation
The Price Tower is the most famous building in the town I grew up in, Bartlesville Oklahoma. It was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and is a main reason any tourist ever comes to Bartlesville. The building is unique and impacted me because there are a hotel and a restaurant at the top of the tower, both of which are the most fancy places to eat/stay in Bartlesville. I started college in a building right across from it, everyday for a year I would walk by it. It truly is a unique building.

Roman Colosseum

Colosseum | The Roman Colosseum at UNRV.com

I saw this building last summer while backpacking through Italy, and it was jaw dropping. This building to me showed power and strength because when you look at it, even though it is almost two thousand years old, it still looks strong and steady. I could not help but think as i walked through all the festivities and deaths that happened in this building along with all the other things that accrued after the gladiator arena was closed.

Dale Hall Tower, although not the prettiest building on campus, is probably the most meaningful to me for an abundance of reasons. First, as a psychology major, whether it was talking to my advisor, speaking with my research professors about an upcoming project, or going to psychology club meetings, I was spending a lot of time here. Second, this building is important to me because I am a first generation college student and given that this place was practically my HQ for my four years here, its symbolic to me. Lastly, I hope to one day come back to this building as a professor instead of a student. Only time will tell.

Camelback Pointe Apartment Homes

Colorado Springs, CO

This past summer, I was lucky enough to secure an internship in Colorado Springs, which gave me the opportunity to live here, at Camelback Pointe. Obviously, it’s hard to complain about an apartment when you’re living in Colorado, but this place had a couple serious issues. For one, the unit assigned to me didn’t have a microwave. For the most part, this one is my fault for not doing more research before signing a lease, but all of the pictures on the website showed a microwave in the kitchen. The other big problem I had with this place had to do with the upkeep and maintenance, or rather the lack thereof, of the deteriorating building. Pictured below is a section of the stairs I walked up and down every day.

It’s easy to see that this is a problem, for obvious reasons. Given that my life flashed before my eyes nearly every time I walked down these stairs, it’s a miracle that no one has been seriously injured.

I could go on for hours about this apartment complex, but the truth is, between work and hiking, this building meant little more to me than a place to rest my head.

Elvis Presley birth home

I grew up living in many states and cities and one of them was Tupelo Mississippi. A small town in Mississippi, there was not much to do. Having the birth home of Elvis Presley made Tupelo a tourist attraction. Seeing and visiting his home was really cool, just because to see where he grew up in a small house in a small town, made me think no matter where you’re from or where you live you can make it and be famous. Visiting Elvis Presley house has a special feeling to me.

The Alamo

Growing up and living a big chunk of my life in Texas, from living in Austin, Dallas and Houston, visiting the Alamo was an experience that I had to see. I thought it was really interesting going to San Antonio and seeing the Alamo. With all the history there it was super fascinating. The Alamo is a symbol for courage and that is what makes this place special for me.

The White HOUSE

The White House, one of the most high achieving buildings to live in. Going on a tour there was just amazing. With James Hoban laying out the building and finishing in 1817 after a fire burned it down. President James Monroe was the first to live there after the fire. Touring the White is a once in a life experience considering living so far away. The White house is always busy and a bunch of people are running around all the time. I really enjoyed visiting the White House.
