An Architect References Local Architecture to Build a Modern Home ...
Wendell Burnette designed this 16 acre house on a farmland near Wisconsin. Burnette included a lot of history when designing this house based upon client request. From a distance, the house appears as apathetic. When you approach the house, you can see the garden which means a lot to the residents. The house is 5,000 square feet that has an architectural design that forms with the season and environmental conditions.

Hidden Valley Desert House - Wendell Burnette Architects
Wendell Burnette is a Arizona based architect, famous for many structures, one being the Meredith Residence north of Cave Creek, Arizona. The house sits on a 5 acre site in a desert valley and designed from client’s concept of wanting to be close to nature. Wendell achieved this by making indoor and outdoor spaces seem seamless with large windows and glass screen doors. Burnette was influenced by desert architecture in countries like North Africa.

James turrell skyspace

Around Houston: Turrell in a Day | The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston
This space was constructed as a pyramid like structure on Rice University in Houston, Texas. The meaning of this building is to project beautiful colors and light, with a sense of peace and relaxation. The color/light shift and change throughout the day as natural light hits the space at different angles. James Turrell is a unique artist who used light as his tool and had a magical perception towards light. I was positively influenced by this structure and art because of the creativity.

Disney world – Cinderella castle

Me & my family used to go to Disney World once a year when I was growing up. It was something to always looks forward to in the summer and I am so grateful I had this opportunity. The meaning of the building is to attract people from all around the world as if this mythical character: Cinderella, actually lives in this beautiful, amazing castle. The castle is influenced by Gothic style architecture as there are many arches and ornate panels incorporated. The castle also includes several mosaic murals that tell the story of Cinderella. I have encountered the Cinderella castle and it is magical, I don’t see how it could influence an individual any other way but positive!

At&t stadium – Arlington, texas

Top 10 NFL Stadiums to Visit - Living Out Loud Los Angeles ...
AT&T Stadium located in Arlington, Texas is home of the Dallas Cowboys and where OU battles for the Big 12 Championship. The meaning of the building is to provide structure for occupants to see the field from every angle, holding thousands of people as you can see in the picture above. When I encountered AT&T Stadium for the first time was in December of 2017, after the stadium was new and improved with a retractable roof and a beautiful layout. I remember going to the top floor where it was mainly people who didn’t have seats. It had huge windows that looked out and produced a good amount of natural light with exterior solar shading to keep the space cool. It was a good amount of space for people to spread out and sit down if they wanted to. The bathrooms were close so I don’t remember having to walk far to get anywhere/anything from where I stood with friends watching the game. I would definitely go back to AT&T Stadium.

Couch tower

The towers have a big influence on life at the University of Oklahoma, specifically freshman on campus. For me, I will always remember Couch Tower in a positive way because of all the memories that are attached. The meaning of the building is to give students that have just moved out of their homes, a place that can feel like home. When I think of Couch Tower, I think of my roommate and suit-mates that made my freshman year everything and more. Although the architecture of the building and overall health weren’t positive, the good outweighs the bad and I will always see Couch Tower in a positive way because of the relationships and memories built.
