Wright Brother’s Sculpture

North Canton, OH - Wright Flyer Replica

John Picard designed this Wright Brother’s Sculpture at the Akron-Canton Airport. Picard is regarded as one of the most preeminent environmental consultants in the United States. Picard has received many awards in the field of architecture, energy, and environmental science. I appreciate how Picard seems to have a passion for affecting architecture in a very energy-friendly way. I like his ideas when it comes to sustainability and I also appreciate the fact he designed small sculptures like this remembering such influential people in our past.

Bp’s helios house

BP's Helios House « John Picard

One of the projects that John Picard also worked on was the BP Helios House. Once again Picard is working with something to do with energy. This piece of architecture particularly is said to be a gas station of the future. I like how Picard has helped look to the future when designing buildings for energy companies or corporations . I love how modern this building looks and I am hoping other gas stations will look like this in the future.

E-Tank Headquarters

The architect John Picard designed the headquarters for E-tank in Massillon Ohio. I have noticed a theme with this particular architect, such as he works very closely with energy corporations. Picard is known for his efficiency and sustainability of his architecture, which is true for this particular building. I really enjoy the way this building looks as far as its very modern aspects. It makes this workplace look very innovative and would inspire me to be creative while I work. Yet again, I like this building that Picard created as well as his creative twist on making the building interesting and pleasing to the eye.

Devon Energy Tower

Devon Energy Center - Wikipedia

The architect John Picard designed one of the most impressive towers in OKC. I really love the modern take that he took on this impressive tower. This was built relatively recently in the year 2009. Without this skyscraper, OKC would not be very impressive. This skyscraper adds some diversity to the buildings around as well as a great purpose. This tower is a 50 story corporate skyscraper that is dear to many Oklahoma residents. It is also the sixty-second tallest building in the United States and Pickard is well-known for this building. Picard is well-known for his building efficiency and sustainability, which is demonstrated in this building.

Tokyo Skytree

TOKYO SKYTREE® | The Official Tokyo Travel Guide, GO TOKYO

This last piece of architecture is one of my favorites. Japanese culture and architecture are very intriguing and interesting to me. I have not been able to see this skyscraper in person, but it has influenced me by giving me the motivation to travel and experience different cultures. I hope to one day visit this ginormous work of architecture and be surrounded by other Japanese buildings. I really enjoy seeing skyscrapers and this one is definitely on the bucket list to go see. It demonstrates some of the human accomplishments by towering over everything else around it.

Center Point Energy plaza

Centerpoint Energy Plaza, Houston | Beautiful buildings, Houston, Skyscraper

This building has to be one of my favorite skyscrapers in Houston. Houston is where I grew up after moving from Alaska and I always admired this building while I lived there. The top of it opens up in a circular fashion with changing lights on the outside of it. The lights are always bright and beautiful colors and it is very hard to miss this building especially at night. I do videography and recently I got a video of this building with my drone and it looks amazing due to its modern architecture. I really like modern architecture as well as skyscrapers, so there is not much for me to dislike about Center Point Energy Plaza. Whenever I come home and see this while driving back I get a nostalgic feeling that I am back home.

Hotel Captian Cook

The Hotel Captain Cook, Anchorage, AK - Booking.com

This may not be the most aesthetically pleasing work of architecture, but it was great for Alaska. This is the city I grew up in as well as the place where my parents met. In a way without this building I would not exist. I love this hotel because there is a great restaurant on top of it that overlooks the city. This is also one of the tallest buildings in Anchorage, so it is a great vantage point to see what is around. I believe this is one of the coolest buildings in Alaska and also has many fun shops and restaurants in it. It is also very functional as a hotel and is a great place to stay. The Captian Cook hotel has a special place in my memories and I look forward to going back here and look over my childhood city.

Bizzell Memorial library

Bizzell Memorial Library | galileo

The Bizzell Memorial Library has had a huge impact on my college life. I really like the Cherokee Gothic architecture around campus, especially with this library. It has made my walk to class more enjoyable due to the beauty of the buildings. The architecture itself on this campus was a major factor in my decision of choosing OU as my undergraduate college. Layton Hicks & Forsyth were the architects who built this and I really admire their work. There have been countless times I’ve gone in here and have been productive studying for exams. This building really brightens up the atmosphere around campus and I believe it is the central and most important building in Norman besides maybe the football stadium. The Great Reading Room is one of my favorite rooms in this building and I continue to go here and admire this structure as long as I am on campus.
