CABINS AT YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK

Source: yellowstonevacations.com/stay/west-yellowstone/explorer-cabins-at-yellowstone

This is a cabin located in West Yellowstone, Montana at Yellowstone National Park. My family loves to spend time outdoors and explore nature, so naturally Yellowstone National Park is always one of our favorite places to travel. Some of my favorite memories are from staying in these cabins, from learning how to play poker to listening to my uncle tell spooky stories. I love the architecture of these cabins, especially the large windows and open layout. I didn’t realize it as much when I was younger, but the quality time that I have spent with my family here is something that I will cherish forever. Just looking at pictures of the cabins makes me feel sentimental; I hope to bring my children to Yellowstone National Park one day, too.

BIZZELL MEMORIAL LIBRARY

This is the Bizzell Memorial Library located at the University of Oklahoma. I have spent many hours of my life in this building and it is my favorite of all the buildings on campus. One of the reasons that this place is special to me is because not only have I studied here during my time in college, but my mom and my grandpa both attended the University of Oklahoma and studied here as well. I think that the Bizzell Memorial Library’s beauty is breathtaking and timeless, not only the exterior but also the interior. The architecture in the Peggy V. Helmerich Great Reading Room is stunning, so much so that it feels as if it were designed only for the most important of people. This is the only room that I can think of that I always feel intimidated to walk into, no matter how many times I have before, solely because of the impressiveness of its design.

st. paul’s church, munich

This is St. Paul’s Church in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. My family is from Germany and my uncle currently lives in Munich, so every couple of years my family will plan a trip to go visit. St. Paul’s Church is an enormous, gothic-style Catholic Church that was built in the late 1800s. In my opinion, this is one of the most incredible buildings in Munich and one that I think every person should take the time to see if they ever have a chance to visit. Standing in front of the church is breathtaking; it almost seems as if the church rises so tall that the top is in the clouds. It is visually striking how immaculate the details are throughout both the interior and exterior. To say that this building is an impressive work of art does not do it enough justice.

TWA Flight Center

This is the Trans World Airlines (TWA) Flight Center at the John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens, New York. My dad is a pilot for JetBlue Airways and is based out of the JFK airport, so all of his trips begin and end at this airport. The TWA Flight Center, which is now a hotel and museum, is connected to JFK’s terminal 5, the JetBlue terminal via flight tubes (just one of the iconic design techniques used by famous architect Euro Saarinen). Built in 1962, it has a rich history which my dad and I have spent a lot of time chatting about while waiting in the airport, memories that I will always cherish. I have been traveling since I was very young and have accompanied my dad on numerous trips, and this building is one that I always notice. I am still in awe of its beauty and futuristic design every time I see it.
