This is another one of Michael Reynolds’ Earthship designs and it is located in Canada. It is sustainable and durable, and is perfect for a Canadian getaway when it is available for renting. This design is a bit different from Reynolds’ other designs with it being much less colorful and not having so much of the curved look. However, I like the dark and sleek look that matches with the mountains in the back. I also like homes that have plenty of windows and sunlight, and this house definitely has that.

This room is a part of the core building in the Sustainable Development Testing Site located in Taos, New Mexico. This building is the center of a community of Earthships created by Michael Reynolds which are all available for renting. The grand ceilings, large windows, curvy walls, and bottle design make this cathedral like room so intriguing. The design is just so much different than any other design out there and it is incredible how environmentally friendly these structures are. Michael Reynolds’ work is remarkable and I hope his name continues to grow and people continue to hear about what amazing things he is doing.

This house is created by the architect Michael Reynolds who is known for his “Earthship” architecture which mixes sustainability with an earthy design. This green home features its own microclimate in the high mountain desert and is completely off the grid. I love the seclusion of this house and its ability to be rented out as two separate wings or the entire place, depending on your needs. The interior is very cozy and has a tropical jungle vibe to it that is extremely welcoming. The amount of light that comes into the structure is amazing due to all of the windows and is perfect for the little jungle inside.

This school was created by North American architect Michael Reynolds. The build took about 7 weeks and it is constructed of 60% recyclable materials (plastic and glass bottles, cardboard, cans) and 40% natural materials. I have seen these building designs before but never knew who the architect behind it was until now. Michael Reynolds’ Earthship Biotecture company is incredible and the work they do is so beautiful and is also helping save the planet. My first glance at this building made me question so much and wonder what all the little designs are for. There was so much thought that went into every piece of the building, and the hand placed recyclable materials give the building such an interesting and earthy look.

I went on a road trip for a few weeks around Colorado with my best friend last August and we were able to stay at the famous Stanley Hotel that the movie The Shining is based off of. The hotel was actually built by the inventor of the Stanley Steamer car, Freelan Oscar Stanley. It is located in Estes Park, Colorado and is basically the centerpiece of the town up on a hill that allows you to see it immediately as you finally make it out of the mountains. The hotel has a Georgian and Colonial Revival style architecture and is very grand with its large build and white sides with a red roof. The vibrant colors of the hotel allow it to pop out easily and show its beauty to everyone around. The entire building is gorgeous and is located in such a beautiful area. The history of the building is amazing to hear about and there have been so many incredible historical figures that have made their way through the halls here.

Castello di Amorosa is an authentically designed 13th century Tuscan Castle Winery located in Napa Valley, California. The building is built to be just like a medieval castle and includes: a moat, drawbridge, towers, courtyards, chapels, armories, stables, and more. The castle is 121,000 square feet and the entire construction process including materials and methods were done exactly how it would have been done back 700-800 years ago. I went here on a trip years ago and the beautiful design of both the interior and exterior is astonishing. Every single brick and rock you see was put in a certain spot that makes the building so perfect. The beautifully designed interior with its large paintings, grand dining hall, and endless wine tunnels is incredible. I really hope that I will be able to go back to this wonderful place sometime soon. The building has sadly gotten burned because of the recent fires in the wine country of California, but the team there is hoping to bounce back and get everything fixed soon.

The Crescent Hotel is a beautiful building located in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas in the town of Eureka Springs. I first went there with my parents back in 2016 for a little trip and it was amazing how beautiful the town and the Crescent Hotel are. The hotel has a French Renaissance and Richardsonian Romanesque style that creates a beautiful building with such a great design. I could not believe the great size and architecture while driving through the Ozarks and seeing the hotel grow closer as we were first getting there. There are so many windows throughout the buildings and the height of the walls draws your eyes upward. Our rooms were directly off the balcony and we would sit outside in the evenings and watch the moon come up over the mountains. The view was breathtaking and the hotel really just made the trip fantastic.

The Biltmore Estate is one of the most incredible buildings I have ever seen in my life. The estate has a 250 room French Chateau that was designed by George Vanderbilt with construction lasting from 1889 to 1895. The Biltmore Estate is the largest privately owned home in the United States and is setting on a breathtaking property in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. I went here with my family around 10 years ago and had the opportunity to walk all through the property and hear about the history that happened there. The entire property is absolutely astonishing with every little piece of design that was put into it. The estate is on a completely different level from most other pieces of architecture I have seen, and by just looking at a picture of the place you can get the idea of that.
