Headington Hall (Norman OK)

This is a more recent milestone in my life, my freshman year dorm. Overall, I have positive and negative experiences here. From an architecture standpoint, It beautiful inside and out. Moving out of my small town to a city like Norman, Headington hall is such a drastic jump in style that it really stood out to me. Architecturally, it may be my favorite building on campus, only next to the bizzell library. With such importance to my life, it was hard not to include it on my blog

Reynolds Center (Tulsa OK)

This was a wonderful moment in my life. The Reynold’s Center is the location were I graduated high school from and when I stared the next portion of my life. The building stands out of all the buildings around it and really distinguishes itself. When I encounter this building, memories of graduating bring positive thoughts to my head. This building also purposes for the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane basketball team. Its versatility and impact on my life makes it a standout architecture piece in my life.

Childhood home (The ranch)

This is THE most influential building in my life. Besides my college years, I have spent the entirety of my life living here. It is a classic American ranch style house with open indoor concept, shotgun doors, full of memories. This building brings with it the thoughts of family. I return here in times of the holidays and more recently, the pandemic. Regardless, driving up the half mile long driveway still fills me with emotion and will always be one of my favorite places.

Hotel Del Coronado

This southern California hotel is located in San Diego, California and was built in 1888. It is considered “Wooden Victorian” style of architecture. The Architect behind this building is James W. Reid. I had the great opportunity to stay here for a night. It was a great time and you could tell there is a lot of history in this luxury hotel. Staying here can be expensive especially on weekends and holidays. When you walk out of the hotel you walk out directly onto the beach, it is definitely a great place to visit for vacation.

The inside of the hotel and the individual rooms were amazing.

Golden Gate Bridge

I visited the Golden Gate Bridge on a vacation to San Francisco in early 2017. I remember the feeling the cold air against my cheeks and the sounds of boats, people, and sea lions barking. As I walked across the bridge, I looked up and marveled at tall and enormous the bridge was. I never realized the massive size of the bridge through pictures I had seen. It was amazing to look around me and see Alcatraz on my right and the vast ocean to my left. I had actually visited on the same day that construction of the Golden Gate Bridge started back on January 5, 1933 which made me feel very small for some reason. Just to think that 84 years earlier, there would be nothing separating me from the ice cold waters below.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Mercedes-Benz Stadium

I was able to visit this stadium this last winter break when Oklahoma played LSU in the College Football semifinals. This stadium just recently opened in the fall of 2017, and is now considered to be one of the nicest stadiums in all of the United States. This stadium almost resembles a spiral shape that looks somewhat like wings due to the Atlanta Falcons having a bird mascot. I was blown away that architects were able to resemble this in such a massive way. The stadium also has a lot of glass that allows you to somewhat see in, when looking from the outside. This building left a very positive effect on me, as I had never seen a stadium of this size. I also thought the scoreboard/TV was very cool, as it wraps around the whole stadium. Overall, this building left a very positive impact on me, and to this day is the nicest stadium I have been able to watch a football game in.

Epcot, Spaceship Earth

I first visited this building when I was about 8 years old, and was amazed by the way it looked. This building looks almost like a massive golf ball on the ground, with a silver finish on the structure. This building holds exhibits and rides that are considered to be of the most popular in all of Walt Disney World, mainly because of how the structure looks. I was breath taken on how massive this building actually is, as the pictures don’t do it justice. This building is also the main thing I’ve always remembered since visiting which I think shows just how massive and unique the building is. Visiting this place as a kid was also very special as it was one of my dreams, so when I actually saw the beauty of it I was breath taken. I also have yet to see a building that looks similar to this which I think shows the uniqueness of it.

One World Trade center

In the two times I have visited New York City, going to the One World Trade Center is always at the top of my list. Not only is it the 6th tallest building in the world, it’s also a testament to the resilience of New Yorkers and Americans alike. When the Twin Towers fell in 2001, we lost almost 3,000 people. The outside of One WTC has a dedicated fountain memorial with the names of every victim engraved in it. If you walk around the fountain, there’s complete silence as visitors remember the events of 9/11 and the lives lost. The fountain is in the exact same spot where the original towers once stood, and it looks up to the new One WTC. I remember feeling awestruck and overwhelmed as I looked up at the building. It creates an environment in which everyone can connect to the structure and to everyone around them.

Tulsa Gathering Place

Tulsa Gathering Place

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which, to be honest, isn’t the most exciting place, in my opinion. Having said that, Tulsa’s Gathering Place is easily the best place to visit in Tulsa. Although it is just a park, many different pieces of buildings make this park very interesting to visit. The entire park costs almost $500 million to complete, providing education opportunities, and is completely free to enter. I myself have visited this park at least thirty times since its opening in 2018. Here are some images of how beautiful the park is.

Michael F. Price Hall

Michael F. Price Hall

As a student in the management information systems program at the University of Oklahoma, I am apart of the Michael F. Price College of Business. This building is very significant to me because many of the course I have taken has been inside this very building along with Adams hall adjacent to it. The individuals who have influenced my life have all taught or practice in this building. Ranging from students, professors, and advisors, all these individuals have shaped me as a person today within the price hall. If I were to close my eyes, I could navigate the building with ease because it’s almost second nature to me to traverse through this building. After I graduate this semester, this will be one of the buildings I will truly miss visiting on campus.
